Jennings Funeral services for Mr. David (Pops) Daniel LeGros, Sr., 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 4, 2010 at the First Church of Christ with Brother Jack Harris officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will be held in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation on Sunday, January 3, 2010 will be held from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 3rd visitation will be held at the First Church of Christ from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. LeGros was a native and lifelong resident of the Jennings/Hathaway area. He was an army veteran of World War II and was awarded the Kameto and Victory Medals. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, the VFW and the DAV of Eunice. Mr. LeGros retired from Hunt Tool after 35 years of service as a welder. He enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, fishing and hunting. He was fond of and dearly loved his grandchildren and the children he and his wife cared for. Mr. LeGros is survived by his wife of 63 years; Wydell Regan LeGros of Jennings, four daughters; Wanda Trahan of Welsh, Carolyn LeGros of Jennings, Becky Gary and husband Terry of Hathaway and Rosie Cart and husband Carol of Tee Mamou, a son, David Noonack LeGros, Jr. and wife Debbi of Corpus Christi, 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; David and Aleida LeGros, six sisters; Anita Butson, Lucille Manuel, Marie Kotzel, Rosie Duhon, Elise LeGros and Maria LeGros and three brothers; George, Frank and Howard LeGros. Pallbearers will be Terry T-Boy Lee Gary, Jr., Jeremy David LeGros, Christopher Daniel Crochet, Bradley LeGros, Charles Corky Logion and Joseph Thomas Pousson.
