Funeral services for Mrs. Darlene Teal Parsons, 62, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home chapel in Jennings with Pastor Jered Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery.

Mrs. Parsons died at 4:35 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2016 in her residence in Lake Arthur.

Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Mrs. Parsons was lifelong resident of the Jennings/Lake Arthur area and worked as a housekeeper in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur. She loved to read, loved to be with her family and loved her dog Mocha.

Survivors include one son, Russell “Possum” Parsons and wife Janet of Jennings; two sisters, Gloria Conner and husband Alvin of Lake Arthur, Margaret Bolfa and husband Kirk of Eunice; two brothers, Jerry Teal of Lake Arthur, and Kenneth Teal of Sulphur.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Elvie Tall Teal and brothers, Gerald, Edward and Alfred Teal.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
