Dalton R Sonnier, Sr.

A funeral mass for Mr. Dalton Ray Sonnier, 77, of Eunice will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady Help of Christian Catholic Church with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Sonnier will begin on Thursday May 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.  It will resume on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Sonnier was born on January 26, 1945, in Jennings to Ferdinand and Atta Fontenot Sonnier.  He served his country honorably during the Viet Nam War as a member of the United States Army.  He worked and supported his family as a welder.  He enjoyed fishing, four- wheeler riding, and airplanes.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Rita Deshotel Sonnier; three daughters, Donna Crawford and Delores Ardoin, both of Texas and Christina Carlin of Sulphur; a son, Dalton Ray Sonnier, Jr. of Eunice; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Galen Sonnier, five sisters, one brother and grandchild Kaitlyn Sloane.
