Dale Whiddon

Dale Whiddon, 73, of Jennings, passed away on April 8, 2021.  He was born in

Jennings on December 8, 1947 to Leroy and Leona Belle Alcock Whiddon and was a lifelong resident of Jennings/Evangeline area.  He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Jennings.

Dale graduated high school and completed one year of college.  He was an auto mechanic.  He enjoyed working on computers, old cars and trucks, being on a boat on the water and hanging out with friends and family.

Services for Dale will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Wells officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Dale will begin Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until time of service.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Lela K. Whiddon of Evangeline; one niece, Tyra (Sidney) Whiddon Hebert; one nephew, Brandon (Melisa) Whiddon; great nieces, Kathryn Benoit, Gabrielle (Richard) Trahan, Mallory Whiddon; great nephews, Mikhael Hebert, Drake Whiddon, Erik Hebert; great great nephew, Karsen Prince.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Frances McClelland, Elaine O’blanc, Sandra LaCombe and Vicki Newsome for the wonderful care they provided to Dale.

Dale is preceded death by his parents, Leroy and Leona Alcock Whiddon; paternal grandparents, Andrew and Hilda Whiddon and maternal grandparents, Leon “Pete” and Arizona Alcock.
