Jennings 

Private graveside services for Mr. Dale Fontenot, 75, of Jennings, were held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Calvary Cemetery with Father Anil Alexander officiating. The burial was under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. 

Mr. Fontenot was born on March 28, 1949, in Jennings to Irance and Beverly Daigle Fontenot. After attending college, he enjoyed a career managing Fontenot’s Food Mart and as a butcher for Market Basket. He had a green thumb, especially when it came to his citrus trees. His lush tropical garden, filled with palm trees and other exotic plants, was a source of his joy and peace. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Perpetual Adoration Chapel. He had a deep love for the Lord and the Sacraments and attended Mass daily. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 53 years, Helen Sawyer Fontenot; daughters, Rebecca Fontenot and Brittney Roy; son, Benjamin Fontenot; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Leonard Lanthier; grandchildren, Morganne and spouse Ally, Karsen, Makenzie and Cate and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
