JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Robert Vincent, 69, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Masters officiating. Burial will be in the Gueydan Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., today, Monday; and 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, until time of services. Mr. Vincent died at 8:34 a.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Vincent was a native of Gueydan and a resident of Jennings 47 years. He graduated from Gueydan High School class of 1961, Northwestern State University, class of 1965, and McNeese State University (Masters +30). He was a retired educator, teaching at Southside Jr. High, Northside, and Ward Elementary, and was principal of Ward Elementary for 19 years. He returned to the classroom to teach at Crowley Middle, and F.K. White before retiring. He was named Elementary School Principal of the year for Jeff Davis Parish for three years. He loved children and loved teaching and was a member of the Jeff Davis Principals Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jennings. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Marilyn Baker Vincent of Jennings; a son, Robert Kent Vincent and wife Vonda of Jackson, Mississippi; a daughter, Kelli Vincent Miguez and husband Charles of Lacassine; and five precious grandchildren, Benjamin Charles Miguez and Marlena Elizabeth Miguez of Lacassine, and Katie Joy Vincent, Isaiah Kent Vincent, and Robert Elisha Vincent of Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Darice and Lena Meaux Vincent of Kaplan.
