Funeral services for Mr. Curtis R. Trahan will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jered Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery immediately following under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home. Full military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 19.
Visitation will be observed on Friday, October 7 from 10:30 a.m. under 9:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 6:00 and will resume Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Trahan died October 6, 2016 at 4:02 a.m. in a Lafayette Hospital.
Mr. Trahan was born on November 2, 1942 in Hayes, Louisiana. He lived in the Lake Arthur area all of his life where he enjoyed hunting, shrimping, mechanic work and carpentry. He worked as a driller in the oilfield. Mr. Trahan served his country in the United States Army and will be buried with full military honors.
He is survived by his daughter Darlene Trahan and two sisters, Lois Campbell of Bell City and Greta Martin of Lake Arthur; two granddaughters, Laura and husband Vic Emanuel and Sherry Hutchinson; and five great grandchildren, Dixie, Curtis, Hunter, Jacob and Trinity.
Mr. Trahan was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Dugas Trahan; his parents, Louis Trahan and Nedia Benoit of Hayes; and eight siblings.
