Cumalee Jeanne Kirk

JENNINGS CUMALEE JEANNE SHIRLEY KIRK, 86, born March 15, 1929 mother of four children, Daniel Kirk, Louis Sean Kirk, Melissa Kirk-Singer and Kimberly Allene Kirk Berrio, passed away at her daughter’s home on the afternoon of October 7, 2015 surrounded by family. Cumalee was universally loved by all for her compassion and lifelong extension of unconditional love to everyone. She was the Matriarch and last survivor of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Edison Shirley family of Jennings, Louisiana. She is survived by all four of her children, two sons-in-law, Manuel V. Berrio, Allen Kirk-Singer and her adored grandchildren, Rachael Berrio Landry, Daniel Alexander Berrio, Zoe Camilla Kirk, Zack Kirk-Singer, Keagan Kirk-Singer, Karrie Berrio and four precious great-grandchildren. Cumalee cannot be replaced, only extended and emulated for her example by her family and legion of friends. God’s speed, dearest beloved lady. She loved and was loved. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home South Chapel with Dr. Samuel Gladden officiating. Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday; and from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
