A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Craighton Daniel Lacombe, 73, of Evangeline will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline with Rev. Paul LaFleur officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Lacombe will begin on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 6:00 p.m.  It will resume on Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until time to leave for the church at 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Lacombe was born on April 29, 1949, in Crowley to Morris and Melba Lee Miller Lacombe.  He graduated from Iota High School and went on to earn a BS degree at McNeese State University.  He worked as a sanitarian for the State of Louisiana.  He was also a member and past treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Council 6959 and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Evangeline.  He enjoyed French music and watching sports on television.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Monnie “Cookie” Hebert Lacombe; a daughter, Christina “Dani” (Mitchell) Fontenot of Evangeline; three brothers, Preston (Charlene) Lacombe of Iota, Quentin (Debra) Lacombe of Iota and Van (Polly) Lacombe of Egan and three grandchildren, Alexis, Collin, and Bryce Fontenot.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
