Funeral services for Mrs. Coma Phipps Esthay, 97, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday; and 8:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Esthay died at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Esthay was a native of North Carolina and a resident of Evangeline since 1946. She was a homemaker and a high school graduate. She loved working in her yard and cutting her grass.  She also enjoyed cook-outs and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Esthay of Jennings and Jerry Esthay and wife Katherine “PeeWee” of Iota; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Margaret Carden Phipps; and her husband Claude Esthay.
