Cleveland "Sonny" Myers Jr. passed away January 2, 2025 peacefully with his daughters and sons in law by his side.
Sonny was a man of many passions, a jack of all trades, and most of all a father whose love knew no bounds. Sonny's love for his daughters and step daughters shined through like a beam of sunshine. His pride for his children and grandchildren was something you knew was pure for how highly he spoke of them. He carried himself with gratitude and had the gentlest and kind soul, the type of man that would give his last of anything to help someone else in need. Throughout his life he always had a positive outlook on things.
His passion for wood working and carpentry is something that was more than just a job or a hobby. It was what he truly loved and became a master at his craft. He created homes that he cherished for families and would proudly point them out as he drove his girls through town. Seeing the smile on his face when he showed you a home that he built for someone made you truly see that it was never just a job to him, it was creating something for someone else to cherish.
Being a true southern man Sonny was an avid outdoorsman who loved everything about nature, wildlife, and most of all fishing. He made sure to give his girls life long memories out in nature whether it was camping, fishing, or any of the outdoor hobbies he enjoyed.
A man who never met a stranger, Sonny truly loved spending time with his friends. Always surrounding himself with old friends and new friends, he loved having a good time and making sure everyone around him had that joy.
If you had a chance to sit around with Sonny you know the joy he found in sharing his vast knowledge about all of the things he learned throughout his life. Whether it be life advice or how to tie the hook to the fishing line. He could truly help you figure out anything. No conversation would be complete until he taught you something through it. If he didn't have a tidbit of advice, he surely had a story or joke that could brighten the darkest day. With a sense of humor that could make any frown turn upside down. His stories were a feature about him to be loved for the detail and creative mind he showed you through his words.
Sonny truly was a man who enjoyed the simple things that life had to offer. The love of his family. Enjoying his beautiful waterfront property and tending to his garden that he loved. Caring for his animals especially his dogs, Jessie & Ivy. Sitting in his backyard throwing a line out, checking his jug lines, or creating his next wooden masterpiece. Or simply picking the satsumas from his tree. He loved every bit of his life to the fullest.
Survivors include his daughters, Priscilla Fullilove (Peyton), Misty Stelly (Ryan); Bonus Daughters, Francine Gauthier (Richie), Vanessa Richard (Joey); grandchildren, Lexie, Noah, Elijah, Lyla, Eleanor, and Adalee; bonus grandchildren, Casey, Emily, and Macy; great grandson, Asher and siblings, Barbara (Rocky), Cedric (Linda), and Tony (Rory).
