Claude Royer

RAYMOND Funeral services for Mr. Claude Royer, 88, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2009 in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Sunday; and 8:00 a.m., Monday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Royer was a lifelong resident of the Welsh/Pine Island area and was a retired school bus driver for the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board with 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he served as usher. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Guidry Royer of Welsh; four daughters, JoAnn Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Esther Regan and husband Tiny of Jennings, Jeanette Crochet and husband Jessie of Jennings, Delores Armentor and husband Tyrone of Jennings; two sons, Herman Royer of Pine Island and Steven Royer of Carencro; one brother, Orelian Royer of Lake Charles; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers will be Chris Thibodeaux, Scott Crochet, Dean Regan, Lane Royer, Eric Armfield and Matthew Royer.
