Clara Broussard

LAKE ARTHUR

Funeral services for Ms. Clara Mae Broussard will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Arthur with Father Jay Alexius officiating. Burial will be held in St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday December 6, 2022 from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.  until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Miguez Chapel.

Clara was born on July 14, 1926, in Welsh, Louisiana to Ophey Bouley and Azema Broussard. She lived in the Lake Arthur community her entire life and worked as a homemaker. Clara was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lady Catholic Church. She loved being outside and enjoyed gardening. She also adored her cats. She loved her family and was very proud of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Horton of Beaumont, TX, and Jackie (Roger) Johnson of Kinder, LA; sons, Ricky (Angie) Broussard of Jennings and Bryan (Susan) Broussard of Lake Arthur, LA; sister, Eva Bouley of Lacassine, LA; brothers Jason (Debra) Bouley of Welsh , LA and Arnold (Dianne) Bouley of Welsh , LA; daughter-in-law, Tina Broussard of Lake Arthur,  LA; sixteen grandchildren; forty four great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Curtis Broussard; her parents; son, Wayne Broussard; granddaughter, Jana Prudhomme; and grandson, Rodrick Broussard.
