JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Christopher Philip Chaisson, 45, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2010 in the Jennings United Methodist Church with Rev. Ted Freeland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation at the church will be from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., today, Thursday; and 8:00 a.m. Friday until time of services. Mr. Chaisson died at approximately 3:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Chaisson was a lifelong resident of Jennings and a Jennings High School graduate (class of 1983) and he attended McNeese State University. He was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, he was an avid sports fan, coached baseball and football and loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of USSSA, United States Specialty Sports Association. Chris had a cherished love for sports, and he will always be remembered for his exceptional talents and gifts in baseball and football. All who knew him in his glory days will never forget him and the excitement he helped bring to the little town of Jennings. His latest love was helping coach his 13-year old, Kaleb, and other youngsters whom he loved so much. He also loved being with his family and children and especially adored the apple of his eye, Addi. All who knew Chris will remember his hallmark sweet and friendly smile. Survivors include his three sons, Ryan Chaisson of Jennings, Kaleb Chaisson of Jennings and Tyler Chaisson of Welsh; parents, Don and Cheryl Foreman Chaisson of Jennings; one sister, Debra Redmond and husband Jimmy of Lafayette; niece, Jordan Stevens of Lafayette, nephew James Jay Redmond, Jr. of Lafayette and two granddaughters. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions may be made to Capitol One Bank-Christopher P. Chaisson account.
