Cheryl Price Walker

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mrs. Cheryl Ann Price Walker, 60, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 in the Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Rev. Alan Trouille officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Walker died at 3:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at her residence in the room she had designed for her beloved grandchildren. Mrs. Walker was a lifelong resident of the Welsh/Lake Arthur area. She worked as a bookkeeper, and was a devout member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh, where she served as an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, Sacristan, member of the Catholic Daughters, taught Catechism for many years, and assisted with wedding rehearsals. She was also the director of Roanoke Little League for many years. She adored her grandchildren and loved her time with her friends. She recently attended a local Faith Renewal through Immaculate Conception Church in Jennings, and this further strengthened her faith in our Savior. Many in the community knew her well, as she shared the love of Christ with all that she met through her beautiful smile and kind words. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Walker; one son, Blake Walker and wife Allison of Lake Charles; one brother, Tommy Price and wife Lisa of Lake Arthur; and two grandchildren, Gabriel and Raylee Walker. She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Rutheau Mae Young Price; and one son, Michael Chad Walker.
