Charles James Barber

JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Charles James Barber, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. today, Thursday, until time of services. Mr. Barber died at 12:52 a.m., Wednesday, October 7,2015 at his residence in Jennings. Mr. Barber was a lifelong resident of Jennings and was a retired equipment operator in the construction business. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved spending time with his family and loved his dog Taco. Survivors include two daughters, Felicia Barber and husband Allen of Welsh, Regina Deshotel and husband Ronald of Jennings; one sister, Dorothy Richard of Carlyss; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Doris Marie Crochet Barber; her parents, Edward Hanes and Lela Pinkston Barber; one son, Richard James Barber; a granddaughter, Cassie Barber; three sisters, Hazel Barber, Ruby Hoffpauir, Opal Istre; and two brothers, Robert Barber and John Barber.
