Charles Istre

The family of Charles James Istre, 66, announces his passing away from this life on March 14, 2024, in Natchitoches, LA, where he was currently residing.

The family has respected his wishes of cremation under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Charles was born on February 24, 1958, in Mermentau, La, to Eddie Istre and Olite Viator Istre. He lived his life to the fullest, always loving and cherishing his family. Charles was proud to be one of fourteen children growing up. He worked as a welder for many years in the shipyard. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising small animals and building little houses for them by hand. He was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Macera Lejeune and grandson, Larry Lapoint, of Lake Arthur; brothers, Alvin (Dulia) Istre of Abbeville, LA and Glenn (Zula) Istre of Gueydan, LA; sister, Shirley Young of Hathaway, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He now rejoices in heaven with his beloved wife, Melissa Broussard; his parents, Eddie and Olite; his son, Kirk Lejeune; and numerous brothers and sisters.
