Mr. Charles Golden Benoit, Sr., 71, of Gueydan passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Services for Mr. Charles will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 12:30 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Father Keith Pellerin officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 12:00 p.m. before the service.

Mr. Charles was born on January 8, 1950, to Charlie and Lillian Broussard Benoit. He served his country proudly by serving in the United States Army.

He enjoyed fishing, shrimping, building things and playing cards with his friends.  He loved taking care of his rabbits, chickens, goats, and sheep. His most precious thing to do was talk on the phone and spend time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Troy) Trahan of Johnson Bayou; sons, Lance Benoit of Westlake, Bobby (Jessica) Benoit of Jennings and Charles Benoit, Jr. of Welsh; sisters, Stephanie (Charles) Breaux of Gueydan and Callie (Rodney) Istre of Maurice; brothers, Larry (Cindy) Benoit and Burnie (Loretta) Benoit all of Gueydan and Ira Paul (Janet) Benoit of Jennings; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Benoit; and brother Virgil Benoit.
