Charles Alva Mack, Jr., 86 Charles Alva Mack, Jr. passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Jennings American Legion Hospital three weeks short of his 87th birthday on Oct. 29. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Harris Mack, four daughters Reverend Susan M. Ferguson (Robert Ferguson) of Monroe, Reverend Jean M Sanders (Chris Sanders) of Haughton, La. , Charlene M. Martin (Leroy Martin) of Bishop, Ga., Laura M. Sawyer (Dean Sawyer) of Lake Charles, and one son Stone W. Mack, II of Jennings, La, 14 grand children and 19 great-grand children. Charles Mack is also survived by his sisters Patti M. Wisenbaker (Bill Wisenbaker) of Ball, La. and Marilyn Simmons (Jerry Simmons) of Patterson, La., and sister-in-law, Carol Mack of Jennings, and a host of friends and family. He is preceded in death by his father Charles A. Mack, Sr., his mother Nettie Patterson Mack, and his brother James L. Mack. Charles Mack was a graduate of Jennings High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (USL). He served in the United States Navy in WWII. Charles was the President/Manager of Jennings Federal Savings & Loan until his retirement. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12. at Jennings United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Ted Freeland. Burial will be immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 11 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the church as well as the hour immediately preceding the funeral. Memorials may be given to Jennings United Methodist Church, Lake Arthur Camp, Caring Hands of Jennings, La., or the charity of your choice.
