Funeral services for Mrs. Cathy A. Zaunbrecher, 65, of Thornwell will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Thornwell Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mrs. Zaunbrecher will be Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Miguez Funeral Home, Lake Arthur from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will resume Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Mrs. Zaunbrecher was born in Jennings on September 22, 1952. She graduated from Turner High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She worked at The Hearing Center in Lake Charles as an Administrative Assistant. She also worked at Thornwell Warehouse.

She was very active in her community as a member of St. John Vianney and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Churches. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar Society and a lector at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Thornwell. Mrs. Zaunbrecher taught Confirmation and 7th grade CCD classes and served as past Secretary of the Thornwell Cemetery Board.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary Zaunbrecher; a son, Zachary Zaunbrecher, Jr. and her parents-in-law, Julian and Laura Broussard Zaunbrecher.

Mrs. Zaunbrecher leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Shannon Renee Zaunbrecher and her sons, Jobe Zachary and Thad John; a son, Scott McCord and his children; a sister, Sandy Dartez; and brothers, Phillip W. Fontenot and family; Rusty A. Fontenot and family; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gregory “Butch” and Chris Zaunbrecher.
