Carson R. Guin

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Carson R. Guin, 71, of Gueydan, will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating.  A burial, with Military Funeral Honors, will follow in Shell Beach Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

The visitation for Mr. Guin will begin on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 12:30 p.m. to travel to church. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. 

Mr. Guin was born on July 22, 1951, in Shreveport, LA to Daniel and Lena Mae McCart Guin.  He passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.  He graduated from college and worked as a nurse anesthetist.  He was also a Navy veteran.  

Mr. Guin was a very hard worker and excellent provider for his family.  He loved to joke around with his family. He also enjoyed hunting deer, geese, and ducks.  Some of his favorite times spent with his friends and family were when they were visiting while enjoying bar-b-que.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Johnson Guin; two daughters, Layla Guin Heard of Houma and Kristin (Anthony II) Guin Curole of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Kelly (Ashlee) Guin of Lake Arthur; five grandchildren, Payton, Braiden, Anthony, Aubree, and Kane and two great grandchildren, Jaxton and Carson.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
