Carolyn Sue Spencer Boulet of Jennings passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, June 15, 2021, after a long illness. Services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Jesus Worship Center with Rev Clifford Lejeune officiating. Burial will be in Mermentau Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in Jennings and continue until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, June 17 at 8:00 a.m. at the Jennings Worship Center and continue until service time at 10:00 a.m.
Carolyn was born March 3, 1958 in Jennings to parents Eva Dale Hebert and Carroll Edward Spencer. Sr. She spent her early years in the greater New Orleans area returning to Jennings in the late 1970’s after marrying her husband of 45 years and best friend Lee Frank Boulet in 1976. Carolyn worked hard her entire life to better herself and others. From achieving her GED to getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. She dedicated 25 plus years to the Jeff Davis Head Start program. She was a lifelong member of the Jesus Worship Center, and her greatest joy was being involved in children’s ministry. Carolyn loved crafts and made baby quilts for all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and every baby born into her church family. Her love of children was truly shown by the raising of over 30 foster children, in which eleven were a permanent part of her life.
Carolyn leaves behind to cherish her memory four generations of family, her Husband Lee Frank Boulet, Her dog Chica, five daughters Kris Bourge, Adalia “Lollie” Copca, Amanda Reynolds, Tina Dartez, Gabrielle Hollier four sons, Tommy Benoit, Eric Hollier, Don Paul Reed, and Cody Boulet, three sisters Belinda Spencer Remmers, Patches Spencer, Carrie (Troy) Broussard and one brother Carroll Edward (Eddie)Spencer, Jr. Thirty grandchildren, Thirty-three great grandchildren, Two nieces, Ten nephews, 19 great nieces/nephews and Special to her heart Rhonda and Wilfred “Bo” Douget.
Carolyn was welcomed with open arms into heaven by her parents Eva Dale Hebert Menge and Al Menge and Carroll Edward Spencer, Sr and Clara Hebert Spencer. Her daughter Tommy Lou Huckleby, son Harvey Benoit, Grandchild Tasha Istre, Grandmother Hilda Hebert and Her dogs, Mille and Susie Q.
Carrying Carolyn to her final resting place will be Wilfred “T-Bo” Douget, Blake “Jake” Ory, Kevin Remmers, Tommy Benoit, Jo Watts, and Cody Ray Bouley. Honorary pall bears will be Lucas Spencer, Willie Reynolds, Ashton Douget, Matt Remmers, Don Paul, and Travis Spencer.
The family wish to express a special thank you to Heart of Hospice for the excellent care given.
To Rhonda and Wilfred “Bo” Douget you have a special place in heaven and in our hearts for all the sacrifices made and the help you provided to get Carolyn thru her journey.
