JENNINGS Funeral services for Mr. Carl Wesley Norton, Sr., 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in the Jennings United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmie D. Pyles officiating. Burial with Masonic Graveside Rites will be in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services at the Jennings United Methodist Church, 702 Cary Ave., Jennings, LA. Mr. Norton died at 3:50 a.m., Sunday, September 14, 2008 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mr. Norton was a lifelong resident of Jennings. He was a graduate of Jennings High School, class of 1952. He was also a graduate of SLI, now ULL in 1956 and worked on his Masters Degree at LSU. He was a Certified Public Accountant and owner of the Carl Norton CPA Firm. Mr. Norton was a member of the Jennings United Methodist Church, Jennings Masonic Lodge #249, Jennings Rotary Club, AICPA, LCPA, Jeff Davis Business Alliance and a former member of the Opitmist Club. SURVIVORS: Wife: Lela R. Hoffpauir Norton-Jennings (3) Children: Carl Wesley Norton, Jr.-Jennings; Linda E. Norton Moonshower and husband Gary L.-Combine, TX; Craig W. Norton and wife Rhonda McClesky Norton-Keller, TX (7) Grandchildren: Carl Wesley (Tre) Norton, III, Tyler Ray Norton, Nathan G. Moonshower, Jacob A. Moonshower, Zachary A. Moonshower, Victoria R. Norton and Parker J. Norton. Special family members, Amy Beard, Ashley Broussard and Carey Broussard Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Grouch and Martha Wild Norton.
