Calvin Lee Dupont, Sr.

Jennings A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Calvin Lee Dupont, Sr. 78, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Very Reverend Anthony Fontenot officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be held today, Friday, May 23, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary being recited by Deacon Bennett McNeal at 7:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Dupont died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 7:40 a.m. at Christus St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. Mr. Dupont, a native and lifelong resident of Jennings, was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He retired from the oilfield industry having worked as a superintendent for Explorer Drilling Co.. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife; Gertrude Benoit Dupont of Midland, two daughters ; Cheryl Fontenot of Jennings and Tasha Patin of Goldonna, LA, four sons; Richard Dupont of Jennings, Mark Dupont of Crowley, Malcolm Moose Dupont of Jennings and Calvin Lee Bitsy Dupont, Jr. of Midland, 8 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mr. Dupont was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Paul and Elia Leger Dupont, a sister, Genevieve Dupont and a grandchild, Myles Nicole.
