Bryan Gary

It is with great sadness that the family of Bryan "Pappy" Kirk Gary, 62, of Jennings, LA, announces his passing on December 21, 2024.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 26, 2024, in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of service.

He will be laid to rest in Bertrand Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

“A man without a dream has nothing.”

Bryan, better known as “Pappy”, lived his life by those words. He was strong willed, ambitious and stubborn at times, but he was a fierce protector and provider with an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Pappy was an early bird who enjoyed the outdoors, barbecue, dancing, music, and good conversation while being surrounded by his loved ones.

He was clever and overflowing with knowledge, gained through all of his life experiences: mechanic, carpenter, AC/refrigeration technician, independent contractor, fisherman, hunter, farmer and so much more. He could fix or build anything and has passed on a wealth of knowledge to any and all willing to learn from him.

He never missed an opportunity to say how proud he was of his children. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. Pappy will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, bravery, and full of love for those who went before him. He has touched the lives of many and will forever be in our hearts and dreams. 

Left to cherish his memory are his life partner, Teresa Gary; daughters, Velvet Gary, Crystal "Chris" Lasher and Chelsie Lott; son, Bryan "BJ" Gary; sister, Tina "Dale" Guinn; brothers, Euman "Butch" Gary and Roderick "Donna" Gary; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; four godchildren; eight nieces and six nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Brittney Gary; a niece, Tiffany Newsom; his mother and father-in-law, Louise Daigle and James Addison; nephew, Jacob Cooley and a brother-in-law, Darrell Cooley.
