Bonnie was born on February 11, 1926, in Nelagoney, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Lola Selby. In 1956, she moved to Louisiana and called it home ever since. She worked for Piggly Wiggly for many years, which she retired from. She was a devoted member to First Baptist Church in Jennings where she taught Sunday school for many years. For many years, she also served as a Pink Lady at the Jennings American Legion Hospital serving in the gift shop. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren, which she cherished deeply.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Frances (Howard) Owers of Crowley, LA; her son, Leslie (Patty) Pitts of Jennings, LA; grandchildren, Cherri, Vance, Izzy and Bryan Pitts, and Lisa Owers; great-grandchildren, Christian Owers, Brianna Potter, and Phebe, Myles and Raiden Pitts; and one great-great grandchild on the way.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester Pitts, Jr.; her parents; numerous brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Lane Owers.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for the love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to make a donation to First Baptist Church in Jennings, in honor of Mrs. Bonnie’s memory.
