Blackburn Joseph Melancon

Funeral services for Mr. Blackburn K. Melancon, 74 of New Iberia will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Miguez Funeral Home Chapel at 12 noon with Rev. Russell Melancon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Southwest Veteran’s Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.  Visitation for Mr. Melancon will begin just prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Melancon was born in Morgan City to Nolti Claude Melancon and Ertha Callahan.  He served in the Army from 08/16/1966 until 07/22/1968 during Viet Nam.  Upon his return he was a boat Captain in the seafood industry.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Barbara Everett Melancon of New Iberia; a son, Christopher Hebert of Abbeville; sister, Lorene Delino of Carlyss; brother, Russell Melancon of Abbeville and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Nolti Melancon, Jr. and sister, Dianna Melancon.
