Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Mitchell, 76 of Jennings, LA will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clifton LeJeune officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Jennings, LA.

Funeral home visitation for Mrs. Mitchell will be held Saturday, April 16th from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Jennings, LA. at her residence.

Mrs. Mitchell was born in Morse, LA on April 16, 1939 and lived in the Jennings area her entire life. She was an avid gardener, an excellent seamstress and especially enjoyed baking for her family. Betty was also known as a wonderful homemaker. She recently retired from Wal-Mart as a stocker. As a woman of strong faith, she was known for her generous spirit and compassion for others.

Left to cherish Mrs. Mitchell’s memory are her children, Kristina Mitchell Reed of Jennings and Brent Mitchell and his wife Kate Aoki of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Chad (Tasha) Shuff, Lauren Boudreaux, Chloe Boudreaux, Aaron Boudreaux, Collin Hale, Ethan Reed and Holden Mitchell; and her great grandchildren, Laicen Shell, Hannah Shuff, Isabella Boudreaux and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Elmer C and Beulah Lavergne Wood; her father, Louis Breaux; her husband, Kent Farrell Mitchell, as well as two daughters, Cynthia Mitchell Lyons and Katharine Mitchell Gott.
