Funeral services for Betty Joyce Stutes Benoit will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will follow in Hanks Cemetery in Morse, LA under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Ms. Benoit will begin on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. with a rosary led by Deacon Mike Tramel at 6:00 p.m. and then closing at 9:00 p.m.  It will resume on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until the 10:00 a.m. service.

Betty Joyce Stutes Benoit was born on July 17, 1942, in Jennings to Elie and Anna Lee Stutes.  She passed away on August 23, 2022, at Jeff Davis Living Center in Jennings where she has resided for the last 5 years.   She was a lifelong resident of Jennings and graduated from JHS in 1960.

She enjoyed playing cards and dice, cooking, going to church and saying her rosary.  Her favorite activity by far was spending time with her beloved family.

She had a deep admiration for the Most Blessed Mother Mary, saying rosaries several times a day for her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her most precious sons, Dean (Sandra) Benoit, Terry (Kim) Benoit, Michael (Tracy) Benoit, and Darryl (Mistie) Gary; her daughter Reesie Stutes; sister Wanda Courville; 14 grandchildren,13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Irving Lee Benoit and her second husband Darryl Gary, Sr.; her parents; daughter Amy Hudnal; her brothers, Elie and Jessie Stutes; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Stutes, Betty Bourque, Ella Benoit; and brother-in-law Daniel Benoit.

Those carrying Betty to her place of rest will be pall bearers, Barrett Benoit, Derrick Landry, Brett Benoit, Travis Benoit, Mickey Benoit, Kenny Woodard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Brantley and Justin Gary.
