Betty Jean Broussard

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean McLean Broussard, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2009 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the LeBlanc Cemetery in Midland under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. today, Sunday and will continue until time of services on Monday. Mrs. Broussard died at 6:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Broussard was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a graduate of Lake Arthur High School class of 1964. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Clista J. Broussard and fianc Elden Nickel of Lake Arthur; one son, Opey S. Broussard and wife Debra of Lake Arthur; one brother, Philip McLean, Jr. and wife Cathy of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Philip J. Broussard, Schylor M. Broussard; step-grandchildren, Shannon I. Guillory and husband Shannon, Shay I. Matt and husband Todd; and Step-Great Grandchildren; Emma and Dayne Matt. Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Dora Kibodeaux McLean, her husband, Dorsey L. Broussard, and a sister Laura Mae Monceaux. Pallbearers will be Opey Broussard, Elden Nickel, Patrick Monceaux, Sr., Todd Broussard, Boogie Broussard and Dusty Simon. Honorary pallbearers will be Schylor Broussard and Philip J. Broussard.
