Bertha Guidry Royer

Raymond Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Guidry Royer, 88, will be held at 11: a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Rev. Babasino Fernandes and co-celebrant Rev. Marshall Boulet officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today Sunday; and 8:00 a.m. Monday until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel followed by a Scripture Service with Deacon Mike Tramel. Mrs. Royer died Friday, October 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at her daughters residence in Lafayette, La. She was a native of Arnaudville and resident of Pine Island. Mrs. Royer was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the St. Lawrence Ladies Altar Society. Survivors include four daughters, JoAnn Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Esther Regan and husband Tiny of Jennings, Jeanette Crochet and husband Jessie of Jennings, Delores Armentor and husband Tyrone of Jennings; two sons, Herman Royer of Pine Island and Steven Royer of Carencro; three brothers, Arista Guidry and wife Hazel of Tee-Mamou, Alex Guidry of Iowa and Danis Guidry and wife Eunice of Lake Charles; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 3 great- great- grandchildren. Mrs. Royer was preceded in death by her parents Treville and Celestine Lormand Guidry, her husband, Claude Royer, three brothers, Moise, Dewey and Treville Guidry, Jr. two sisters, Azilima Granger and Elise Sonnier, a grandson, Gregory Lee Thibodeaux and a son-in-law, Nicholas Thibodeaux. Pallbearers will be Chris Thibodeaux, Todd Royer, Dean Regan, Brad Crochet, Erick Mitcham and Ethan Smith.
