Bernice M Kibodeaux

Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Kibodeaux, 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m.,Tuesday, June 4, 2019 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Burial will be in the Mermentau Memorial Cemetery.

Funeral home visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

A rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Kibodeaux died at 10:05 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 in her residence.

Mrs. Kibodeaux was born on June 14, 1927 to Emmela Broussard and Joseph Kibodeaux in Mermentau. She was a resident of Jennings most of her life. She was a cook at Boudin King for over 35 years. She enjoyed having her friends over on Sunday afternoons for coffee and gossip. Mrs. Kibodeaux loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked watching her daytime stories and evening game shows.

Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne (Mike) Newsom of Jennings; her brother, LeRoy Kibodeaux of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Teddy (Rick) O’Quinn of Lake Charles, Kerry (Michael) Hebert of Jennings, Mallory (Matt) Fontenot of Bryan, TX, Morgan Istre of Lake Arthur and Willy (Charlotte) Martinez of Jennings; 11 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emmela Broussard Kibodeaux; one daughter, Clara Patin; one grandson, Bobby Ortego and 9 siblings.

We would like to thank Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, Dr. Achee and Dr. Griffith for all their care for our mom. Special thanks to ALL her caregivers.

Pallbearers will be Mike Newsom, Trae Hebert, Tanner Hebert, Keegan Guidry, Adam Kibodeaux and Michael Hebert.

Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Fontenot.
