Bernard Francis Taheny

JENNINGS Mr. Bernard Francis Taheny, 64, died at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the Golden Age Nursing Home in Welsh. Mr. Tahenys body was cremated under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. A rosary led by Mrs. Betty LeGros will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Taheny was a native of Sale, England and a resident of Jennings 20 years. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired after 20 years of service, member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and former member of the VFW Post # 19. He was a retired tugboat engineer. Mr. Taheny was survived by his wife Lillian Sue Fruge Taheny; his mother, Mary Donnellon of Manchester, England; one step-son, James Dubroc of Jennings; two step-grand daughters, Jamie Dubroc and Paula Dubroc both of Jennings; two sisters, Kathleen Alexander of Stretford, Manchester England and Carol ONiel of Davyhulne, Manchester England; one brother, John Taheny of Stretford, Manchester England. Mr. Taheny was preceded in death by his father, Brian Taheny and brother, Dermot Taheny. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
