JENNINGS

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Louise Ward Reimer, 83, of Jennings will be held Saturday October 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings with Rev. Alex Geovanni officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon on October 28, 2017 and continue until the time of service.

Mrs. Reimer was a member of the Church of Christ, and a member of Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). She retired from Sowela Technical Community College at age 68. Mrs. Reimer was the Valedictorian of her high school graduating class in 1951.She attended McNeese State University where she received her BA in accounting, Masters in psychology and then at age 60, completed her MBA.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother who was extremely interested in their academic endeavors. She especially loved watching her grandchildren  compete in athletics and supported them in all aspects of their lives. She was extremely generous and always more than willing to help those in need. She enjoyed learning and was always open to a healthy debate.

Mrs. Reimer was preceded in death by her husband Don Reimer and her parents Amos and Ollie Bland Ward.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Deborah Louise Miller and husband, Dr. Gary Miller of Jennings; a son Anthony Murel Hamilton and wife Gwendolyn of Lake Charles; a sister, Linda Dekker and husband Ken of Oklahoma City, OK and a brother, Larry Ward and wife Annette of Murfreesboro, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lindsey Simar and husband Michael, Caleb Hamilton, Alexandra Miller, Ryan Langley and wife Allison, Lauren Laney and husband Brandon; 7 great-grandchildren and her beloved furbabies, Bruiser and Roxanne.
