Barbara Gary

JENNINGS Memorial services for Mrs. Lee J. (Barbara Istre) Gary, 74, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. Burial will be in the Bertrand Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home north chapel. Mrs. Gary died at 11:20 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital. Mrs. Gary was a native of Crowley then moved to the Welsh and Pine Island area. Upon her marriage to Mr. Gary she moved to Jennings and began working at the Jeff Davis Bank for the past 51 years as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed traveling and camping and was an avid collector of dolls. She loved reading, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Gary was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Gary is survived by her husband, Mr. Lee J. (Gene) Gary of Jennings; two sons, Greg Gary of Thornwell and Jeff Gary of Hathaway; two brothers, Douglas Istre of Kinder and L.C. Istre of Pine Island; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
