Barbara Ann Moore

LAKE ARTHUR Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann Jefcoat Moore, 71, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010 in the Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur with Rev. Susan Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Mrs. Moore died at 4:08 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the Lafayette General Hospital. Mrs. Moore was a native of Ruston, LA and a resident of Lake Arthur since 1972 moving here from Slidell, LA. She was a graduate and Valedictorian of the Sulphur High School class of 1957 and a graduate of McNeese State University class of 1961. She was a retired school teacher after 25 years having taught in Welsh, Hathaway, Notre Dame and Lake Arthur. She was a member of the Lake Arthur United Methodist Church, Lake Arthur Womens Library Club and Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Moore was a 12 year cancer survivor and was active in Relay for Life. She is survived by one daughter, Kim Leblanc and husband Britt of Welsh; one son, Jeff Moore and wife Amy of Natchitoches; mother, Laverne Deloney Jefcoat of Sulphur, one brother, Johnny Jefcoat of Scott; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Leblanc, Kourtney Leblanc and Gracie Moore. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Hays Jefcoat and husband, Wilbert C. Nooky Moore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Moores name to the United Methodist Church, Lake Arthur, St. Judes Childrens Hospital, or the American Cancer Society
