Barbara Ann Beaver

May 5, 1938 — October 1, 2021

Barbara Ann Audibert Beaver May 5, 1938- October 1, 2021

Barbara was a native of New Iberia, Louisiana, resident of Jennings from 1956-1977 and resided in Kinder until her passing.

Parents: Bertrand J. and Lucille Darby Audibert

Sisters: Dorothy Audibert Oliver, Sharlyn Bertrand LeJeune (George), of Jennings, Letty Bertrand McFarlain of Jennings and Karen Bertrand Navarre of Eunice.

Vance Beaver of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Barbara were married in 1961 and had 7 children; Kerry (Janet), Vanessa (Jeff), Dane (Bridget), Jody (Marlette), Dru (Beth), Haikey, Spring and an honorary son, Terry (Donna).

19 Grand-children: SkyeAnn (Jack), Jeffrey, Jared, Nick, Keyla (Craig), Austin, Jade, Jacy, Hollyn, Kelsi, Jeffy, Abby, Keegan, Kaden, Greyson, Tulsa, Gentry, Macy and Luke.

9 Great-Grand children; Autumn, Raini, Fawn, Journey, Quincy, Ella, Waylon, Jaylen and “one on the way”.

Her rocking chair had over a million miles on it as she lovingly rocked many babies.

Growing up in the Evangeline oil fields, Barbara dreamed of being a famous ballerina, always dancing, dressing up and performing in school plays.  She graduated Salutatorian from Egan high school in 1956, went on to trade school then worked as the secretary of Jeff Davis Parish school board.

Very active in Church, she devoted herself and time to childrens’ Sunday School programs, writing and directing years of Christmas plays, starring her own children as well as all of the other children who adored her.

You can bet that if there was a family reunion or gathering,  ALL children would have their very own part specifically scripted for them. Hand made props, costumes and all!

Her creative talents were endless, always crafting, playing piano, sewing, crocheting and quilting for her children, grand children and great grand children, teaching them all to do the same.

She could magically whip up an extravagant costume overnight, which is a special talent that all of of her children, grands, great grands proudly possess.

“Beloved Mother and Granny”

A private service was held in her honor by her immediate family.
