Graveside services for Mr. Arthur Lee Leger, 70, will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery with Rev. Jay Alexius officiating. In compliance with state order, his funeral will be a private family gathering.
Mr. Leger passed away surrounded by his loving family at 4:09 PM Saturday, April 18, 2020 following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Leger was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. He was a 30-year employee of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where he served in various capacities, namely maintenance specialist, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and usher. Mr. Leger belonged to Knights of Columbus Council 3012 where he was a past Grand Knight and two-time Knight of the Year recipient. Mr. Leger a 1968 graduate of St. Maria Goretti School. He made his Cursillo in 1989. In later years he attended the True Presence Retreat and ACTS Retreat. Mr. Leger loved to hunt and fish. He was a man of strong, unwavering faith. He loved to spend time with his family and make them laugh. Mr. Leger was also known throughout Lake Arthur as a “Traiteur”.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Kibodeaux Leger of Lake Arthur; daughter, Roxanne Leger of Jennings; son and daughter-in-law Arthur Jr and Anna Leger of Lake Arthur; sister, Susan Smith of Lake Arthur; brother, Elmer Leger of Lake Arthur; grandchildren Mia Monceaux and Austin Leger and son-in-law Aaron Monceaux.
Mr. Leger is preceded in death by his parents, Olidie and Eda McLean Leger; son, Ryan Leger; brother, Dale Leger and sisters, Aline Leger, Mable Martin and Jane Guidry.
