Funeral services for Mrs. Donald (Arlene Robichaux) Waguespack, 74, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday; and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

A Cursillo Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Mrs. Waguespack died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at The Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Mrs. Waguespack, born July 17, 1941, was a native of New Iberia and a resident of Lake Arthur for the past 35 years. She was a proud member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur. She was active in the Cursillo movement, coordinator of the Jennings Ultreya, a member of the Altar Society, served as an extra-ordinary Communion minister and homebound minister, taught religious education, was founder of the “Walk for Life” ministry and founder of the Main Street Farmer’s Market in Jennings. Arlene loved Our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a true disciple and lived to bring others to God. She was a teacher of love and saw Jesus in everyone she met. She loved to fish and work in her vegetable and prayer gardens. She was devoted to her husband of 56 years. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Donald Waguespack, her four daughters, Jamie (Stephen) Vincent, Jodie (Rick) Delcambre, Kim (Dwayne) Armentor, and Sonya (Bernard) Duhon; one son, Layne (Elizabeth) Waguespack; 18 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Huey Robichaux, Sr. and Tommy Robichaux, Sr. Of New Iberia; three sisters, Joanne Townsend of Longview, TX, Gerry Dartez and Faye Theriot of New Iberia, LA and her beloved cat, Min.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Camile and Odette (Deslatte) Robichaux, a sister, Kathleen Romero and one grandson, Bryn Maynard.

Carrying Arlene to her final resting place will be her grandsons, Derrick Waguespack, Coy Guidry, Cru Delcambre, Orie Maynard, Trey Guidry and Quintin Waguespack.

Honorary pallbearers will also be her grandsons, Cade Delcambre, John Comeaux, Brad Armentor, Kelby Comeaux, Trenton Comeaux and Landon Duhon.

Bringing the offertory gifts will be her granddaughters, Lacey Guidry, Briege Comeaux, Ashton Maynard, Payton Maynard, Kristen Comeaux, Jacqueline Myers and Meagan Waguespack.
