MITTIE Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Marcantel Pitre, 75, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013 in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church with Revs.Gary DarDar and Ron Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., today, Saturday at the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will resume at the church Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Mrs. Pitre died at 2:36 p.m., Thursday, March 14, 2013 in the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Pitre was a native of Mittie and a resident of Iota 5 years. She was a lifelong member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was an active member of River of Life in Iota. Survivors include two daughters, Monett Houston of LeBlanc, Teri Rose of Iota; two sons, James Paul Pitre of Dry Creek, Joseph Charles Pitre of DeRidder; two sisters, Judy Dowies and JoAnn Mahaffey both of Grant; two brothers, Carroll Marcantel of Oberlin, Terry Marcantel of Houma; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
