Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Ann (Millie) Pugh Stafford, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the Miguez Funeral Home with Gary Funderburk, Associate Pastor, The Bayou Church in Lafayette, LA officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Funeral home visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday; and 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services.
Mrs. Stafford died at 3:22 p.m., Monday, 18, 2016 in Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette.
She was born in Mont Belvieu,Texas and grew up in Jennings, Louisiana. She has resided in Lafayette for the past 5 years. Ann, known to many as Mrs. Hewitt, was a school teacher for 40 years and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Stafford, Jr.; one daughter, Kathleen Hidalgo and husband Havard of Lafayette and one son, George Joey Hewitt and wife Amelia of Katy, TX; two step-daughters, Paula Lucero and husband Kenny of Crowley and Tammy Stafford of Crowley, three step-sons, Dexter Stafford of Crowley, Ray Stafford and wife Dot of Conroe, TX, Rocky Stafford of Crowley; one sister, Sue Gravelle of Lafayette; 3 grandchildren, Sam Hidalgo, Haley Hewitt and Hunter Hewitt; 10 step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rufus B. and Mamie Pugh, Sr.; her first husband, Clark Hewitt; sister, Fern Heichelheim and brother, R.B. Pugh, Jr. step-daughters-in-law, Brenda Stafford and Jackie Stafford.
She was joyous, kind, and always happy. Ann was a wonderful Christian woman who loved her church, her family, and friends. The family would like to thank her “childhood friends”, Millie, Tillie, Mrs. Conkle, Mrs. Beadle and Mrs. Richer for enriching all of their lives.
