Andrew Sonnier Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Andrew M. Sonnier, Jr., 77, will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Howard officiating.  Burial will follow in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m.  It will resume Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 10:00 a.m. service time.

Mr. Sonnier was born on October 31, 1944, in Jennings to Andrew and Eva Deshotel Sonnier.  He worked as a tool pusher in the oil and gas industry for many years.  He enjoyed working with his livestock and his dogs, gardening, Saints football and he loved watching western films.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are five daughters, Tammy (Joe Myers) Andrews, Tracy (Joe) Manuel of Elton Tanya (Scottie Allemand) Sonnier of Lake Arthur, Caroline Lopez of Jennings and Betty Sonnier of Temple, TX; a son, Charles Thompson of Lafayette; godchild, Darleen Abshire Quirk; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Sara June Sonnier; sister, Judy Powell; Son, Sgt. Anthony “Tony” Sonnier;  brother, Harry Deshotel and son, Dennis Lopez.
