The family of Mr. Alvin Antoine Dupre, Jr., 65, of Gretna, LA, announces the passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, his 65^th birthday.  Mr. Dupre passed away surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 6, 1959, to Alvin A. Dupre, Sr. and Geraldine Chiasson Dupre in Gretna, LA.  He was raised in Gretna but in recent years moved to Carencro and then to Jennings this last year.  He worked in the oil and gas industry as an operations manager.

Mr. Dupre enjoyed working with his hands and was a master craftsman with many talents and gifts.  He loved hunting, but he cherished his wife Jessica and his children and grandchildren.  He also had great affection for his four-legged companion Pearl.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Jessica; two daughters, Heather (Chad) Dupre Lawson and Megan Dupre; his son, Nicholas (Caitlin) Dupre; step son Vaughn Johnson (Katie Younglove), two step-daughters Haley Johnson (Justin Powell) and Kendyll Johnson, sisters, Tammy (Chu) Dupre Tran, Lorie Dupre Silver (Norris Punch) and Crystal (Gilbert) Dupre Lucas; grandchildren, Reese Morgan, Carter Lawson, Jackson Dupre, Peyton Dupre, Declan Dupre, Kymahri Powell and two more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
