Services for Mr. Allen Deshotel will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Pellerin officiating.  Burial will follow in Doucet Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. and will continue until service time tomorrow morning, June 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. A Cursillo Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Allen J. Deshotel, 84 of Jennings passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021, surrounded by his beloved family.  He was born in Jennings on April 26, 1937, to Octave and Marie Guidry Deshotel and was a lifelong resident of the Jennings area.

Mr. Deshotel worked as a logger for many years. He enjoyed the natural bounties of the area we are so blessed with and spent much time hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed playing cards.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory four daughters, Celina (Jim) Kratzer of Roanoke, Norma (Nicolas) Velasquez of Lake Charles, Annette Kendall of Welsh and Christal (Hank) Souder of Jennings; three sons, Jimmy (Martha) Deshotel of Elton, Bob Ray Deshotel and Timothy (Barbara) Deshotel all of Jennings; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mr. Deshotel was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Emily David Deshotel, daughter Patricia LaCombe, two brothers Ivan and Lawrence Deshotel and a granddaughter, Loretta Lewis.
