Funeral services for Mrs. Alita Landry Stewart, 95, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Susil Fernando officiating.

Entombment will be in the Calvary Mausoleum under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Mrs. Stewart died at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 4, 2016 in her residence.

Funeral home visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday; and Friday 8:00 a.m. until time of services.

A rosary will be recited in the funeral home chapel at 6:00 p.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Stewart was a lifelong resident of Jennings and was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. She loved to read, garden, cook and spend time with her family.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Breaux and husband Dan of Lake Charles, Marilyn Stewart of Jennings and Paula Dyke and husband James of Andrus Cove; one sister, Lorice LeGros of Andrus Cove; sister-in-law, JoAnne Landry of Evangeline; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Azelie Simon Landry; her husband, James Stewart; one daughter, Carolyn Dupuis; two sisters, Gladys Brown and Rena LeGros; two brothers , Louis and Sidney; one great-grandson, Aaron Custer, and sister-in-law Geraldine Landry.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Stewarts caregivers; Pamela Daigle, Kay Landry, Kathie Hibbitts. Also Jeff Davis Home Health and Louisiana Palliative Care and Hospice of Jeff Davis.

Carrying Alita Stewart to her final resting place will be her grandsons: Steven Dupuis, Scott Calaverie, Scott LeJeune, Kyle Dyke, Cody Dyke and Aaron Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Miller and Lucas Miller.
