LAKE ARTHUR A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. John Elroy (Alice Marceaux) Landry, 68, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Groth officiating. Burial will be in the Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Funeral home visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday; and 8:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Mrs. Landry died at 6:35 a.m., Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Elton. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur and a high school graduate. She worked for the Jeff Davis Home Health, Christus St. Patrick Hospital, Jeff Davis Living Center and Jennings American Legion Hospital as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She sold Avon and also worked at Coushatta. She loved Elvis Presley, to sew, read, animals and spending time with her family, especially cooking for her boys. She is survived by her husband, John E. Landry of Lake Arthur; her five sons, Jeff Landry and wife Michelle, Myron Landry and wife Kimberly, Timothy Landry and wife Holly, Keith Landry and wife Crystal, Brandon Landry and wife April all of Lake Arthur; one sister, Erisa Benoit of Jennings; 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Landry is preceded in death by her parents, John Wilbert and Melina LeBlanc Marceaux; and one sister, Mary Benoit.
