Lake Arthur Funeral services for Mrs. Advelia Nolan Mallett will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 10:30 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. by the Catholic Daughters. Mrs. Mallett died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 8:05 am in the Golden Age of Welsh Nursing Home. Mrs. Mallett was a native of Gueydan, a graduate of the Classs of Gueydan High School 1955 and resident of Lake Arthur/Welsh area. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and a volunteer for the Senior Citizens holiday dinners. She baked for every fund raiser that came her way. Mrs. Mallett is survived by her husband; Wallace John Mallett of Welsh, two daughters; Juanita Mallett LeBlanc and husband Harry of Lafayette and Lenora Mallett of Welsh, a son; Lawrence Mallett, Sr. and wife Lula of Morse, a sister; Mona Richard and husband Henry of Jennings, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and two godchildchildren. Mrs. Mallett is preceded in death by her parents, Anton Fabian and Alice Hines Nolan, a son; Adam John Mallett, Sr., five sisters; Ella Bertrand, Phalia Saltzman, Yvette Miller, Harriette Nolan and Nola Trahan and a brother, Franklin Nolan. Pallbearers will be Adam Mallett, Jr., Alex Mallett, Joseph Istre, Lawrence Mallett, Sr., Lawrence Mallett, Jr. and Jerome Mallett. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaylon Trahan, Allen Mallett and Randy Mallett.
