1St Sgt. Alife Segura

Graveside services for 1st Sgt. Alife (Al, Deda) Segura, 74, will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, LA. Mr. Segura died Saturday, June 13, 2009 in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home. Mr. Segura was a resident of the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings. He was born to Jean Jacques and Marie Melancan Segura on December 10, 1934 in St. Martinville. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. He served as a police officer for the Leesville Police Department in Leesville, LA and then worked as an EMT for LA State Correctional Facility in DeQuincy, LA. Deda was a member of the American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4215 in Breaux Bridge, and Little Flock Masonic Lodge 236 in Negreet, LA. Survivors include his children, Bobbie and wife Tina Segura, Dale Segura, Steve Segura, Kenny Segura, Connie Chopin, Donna Chopin and Kevin Segura; 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. His siblings are Anna Rae, Rivlus, Bracey, Johnny, Jackie and Sonja Faye. Deda was married to Helen Boudreaux, Agatha Latiolais (deceased) Debbie L. and finally Sherrie Azlin.
