Randy James Guidry

January 17, 1987 ~ July 30, 2021

Funeral services for Randy James Guidry, 34 of Maurice, formerly of the Hathaway area, will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Miguez Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Vincent officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Church Cemetery in Maurice under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Visitation for Mr. Guidry will begin on Monday, August 2, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. and will continue until 8:00 p.m.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Guidry was a 2006 graduate of Hathaway High School. After graduation he served his country as a U.S. Marine. He continued serving his country working in law enforcement for the past 13 years in various positions for Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette Police Department, Abbeville Police Department, Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Department and currently with the Youngsville Police Department.

Randy enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was recently elected president of Blue Knights LA XIV Law Enforcement Club, a role he served with great honor. His most cherished role was that of being dad to his little buckaroo Wyatt who he enjoyed spending time with and was patiently awaiting the arrival of his baby girl Jolie.   

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife, Brooke Trahan Guidry; son, Wyatt James Guidry; soon to be born baby girl, Jolie Guidry; parents, Lorne James and Jessica Istre Guidry; his mother-in-law and father-in- law, Norris and Tessa Trahan; sister, Courtney Guidry of Kentucky; two brothers, Cody (Nicki) Guidry and Rhett Guidry, all of Hathaway; godchild, Chyler; nieces, Chloey, Sienna and Adeline and nephew Noah.

He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Christine Beard Guidry.

  7. I did not know Randy, I know several Police Officers that knew Randy, my thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children, family and friends. Randy is a TRUE American Hero!

  8. I was not a member of the Blue Knights. But rode with Randy and the fine gentlemen often. From the first ride and always Randy had a presence about him and I always felt welcome. For that I say thank you. I will always remember those time's fondly. Thank you Randy.

    To Brooke, Wyatt and Jolie. I don't have the words to express the feelings many of us will have.

    I will always remember Randy and he will always be considered a friend.

  15. When I met Randy in Shreveport Louisiana at the SRC weekend, I knew he was one special person.
    May he Rest in Peace in Heaven One.

  16. I just found out yesterday brother. At a loss for words. Like we promised each other. I'll check in on your family from time to time. From our time in the Marines together till the last time we saw each other. And from now till the time we meet again. I love you brother.
