Mrs. Black worked as a beautician for many years. She was a former Opelousas Yambilee Queen for festival year 1961. Mrs. Black took great pride in her appearance always having her hair fixed and makeup and nails done. Her niece Christine refers to her as a World Class Cook. She not only loved to cook, but her expertise in the kitchen won her many cooking contests. She enjoyed playing video poker. She also loved to visit and talk. Mrs. Black followed her husband Donald as he worked all over the world in the oil field for thirty years.
